Alternatively, doors lock as soon as you shift from P to D.

Doors unlock when you shift to P, only with the car stopped.

A Toyota hybrid. Developed and tested on the Toyota C-HR Hybrid; other recent Toyota hybrids may work but are not guaranteed.
A Bluetooth OBD-II adapter (vLinker FD+ or FS with STN chip recommended). Cheap ELM327 clones often don't work.
An Android 8 or later phone.

Toyota C-HR Hybrid: every feature works. Tested on a 2021 model; other model years should work too.
Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid: door lock control doesn't work, so AutoLock doesn't work on this car. The same most likely applies to the Yaris Hybrid.
Cars on the same platform as the C-HR (GA-C): should work, but not tested yet. For example Corolla Hybrid 2019–2022, 4th-generation Prius (2016–2022), Lexus UX 250h.
